Religion Based Cooperative: Theory and Practice
Abstract
The prophetic cooperative management has been conceptualized as a governance approach grounded in prophetic virtues—honesty (ṣidiq), trustworthiness (amanah), intellectual discernment (faṭonah), and communicative integrity (tabligh). These virtues orient
managerial practice toward ethical accountability, collective welfare, and character formation among members, suggesting that cooperative effectiveness is inseparable from moral legitimacy. Prophetic cooperative management has also been elaborated as a valuebased leadership framework integrating spiritual accountability, ethical governance, and collective empowerment, positioning organizational leadership as a moral–educational process oriented toward community welfare and character formation.
